About Kirsten
What was your first job?
“My first job was assisting in summer art camps for kids at Kitsap Art Center. It also led to sparking my joy of teaching art to the next generation and I now teach art classes there!”
Where do you draw inspiration/creativity in your life?
“Most of my inspiration comes from pop culture, mainly from films that I love. Something about the storytelling of filmmaking, beautiful performances, and getting to watch and share the experience (and of course, endlessly quoting lines) with people that I love has always had an impact on me and continually inspires me!”
About Kirsten Judkins Design
How did the idea of starting Kirsten Judkins Design begin?
“I never intended to ever start my own business and it ended up being something that evolved. I’ve always loved art and truly never thought I’d be fortunate enough to do art as a job but in college when I realized it was something that could be possible, I jumped at the chance. I thought I had to at least give it a try because I’d always regret it if I didn’t.”
The Genesis
Tell us the story of how Kirsten Judkins Design came to fruition.
“I’ve been doing art my whole life but when I was in college, I decided I wanted to possibly go into graphic design. I figured the best way to decide was just to begin so I started designing business cards, flyers, and anything anyone I knew needed. I ended up getting a job as a graphic designer and I fell in love! As I became more experienced, I loved combining fine art and design for the ultimate infusion that reflects my style.”
Tell us what/who drives you to keep working hard towards your goals.
“With art, there are always so many choices, different subject matter, and unique ways to try out mediums. It feels like the possibilities are endless! There’s a freedom and true joy I feel when I create that just makes me want to keep trying new things. As long as I’m living, I’ll always be getting excited over some new project or painting I just got an idea for!”
