What was your first job?
Paige: Retail-shoe store, after-school care + central supply (stocking supplies) for Children's Hospital.
Brianne: Babysitter + legal intern at her uncle's office.

How did the idea of starting Hey Darlin’ begin?
“Over a glass of wine. Brianne hired Paige to take professional photos for both her headshots and products. Our friendship developed from there over lots of wine and daydreaming about owning our shop one day. ”
The Genesis
Tell us the story of how Hey Darlin’ came to fruition.
“An opportunity came out of nowhere to take over a local spot... another creator/maker friend was being relocated due to her husbands job. We both looked at each other and it was an instant ‘Hell Yea’. We try to always remind each other that if it's not a ‘Hell Yea,’ it's a ‘No’.”
The Drive
Tell us what/who drives you to keep working hard towards your goals.
“Each other! The pandemic/shutdowns started around a week after we opened and failure isn't an option in our lives. Even though one of us is an introvert and one is an extrovert, we are 100% both Type A. Oh and honestly the community that we built through the shop during the hardest time any of us have ever faced, really pushes us to do more and be better and be better together.”

“El Pueblito (our neighbors in Harbor Landing Mall) take such great care of us. They feel like our adopted family - so many convos, keeping our chins up, and margaritas during this pandemic.”
Tell us your fave local spot for a comfort meal - what do you always order?
“Susanne's Tuna Salad sandwich hands down for both of us. We secretly try to figure out what kind of magic they put in it.”

Out-of-town guests are coming for the weekend. What is the most important thing you share with them about the Kitsap Peninsula? Where do you absolutely have to take them?
“We have to take them on a ferry ride!”

Where are your favorite places to get outside? What do you do when you go?
“Bella Bella Beach, on Fox Island (also known to Google as Tacoma DeMolay Sandspit Nature Preserve), to soak up the sun and take in the salty air. We've actually held a Hey, Darlin' meeting there.”
