Bremerton is a beautiful city and a scenic one-hour auto ferry or a 35-minute crossing via passenger-only Fast Ferry crossing from Seattle, making it Kitsap County’s biggest city and also the most popular with commuters. Bremerton's downtown Harborside area boasts the Kitsap Conference Center, two hotels, fine dining, coffee shops, cafes, outdoor sculptures, and water features. The Port of Bremerton Marina has 220 permanent slips and 100 slips for visiting boaters. You can enjoy a stroll through the Arts District, Puget Sound Navy Museum, or climb aboard the historic USS Turner Joy accessed via the waterfront boardwalk. Harborside Fountain Park features large water features that dramatically spout water out of the top, a popular place for youngsters in the summer heat.

Nestled next to Evergreen Park and just a stones throw form the water, Evergreen Pizza is slice of paradise in Bremerton! With a full bar and tap with delicious sides and salads, this low key but legit delicious pizza spot is a local fave.

Eat in pr grab a pie or two to picnic in the park across the street. Bonus points for the gelato shop in the bottom floor!

el balcon

190 Pacific Ave, Bremerton

El Balcon is something special - a family owned Salvadorian & Mexican restaurant that destroys your craving for street tacos, crispy papusas, carnitas, fried plantains and so much more.

A small hole in the wall near the corner of 4th + Pacific that is easy to find due to the constant line out the door. With a devoted following, El Balcon is a favorite of locals and visitors coming off the Seattle ferry alike.

admiral theatre

The blocks that make up downtown Bremerton are sparkling a little extra these days. The Admiral Theatre, along with help from the newly renovated Roxy Theatre (beholder of the piano that inspired musician Quincey Jones to begin his musical journey) and the new square of 4th + Pacific aptly named “Q” in his honor is proving Kitsap can hold it’s own when it comes to the Arts. The historic movie house, built in 1942, hosts movies, live theatre, events, concerts, conferences, and more. You can also eat your way down Pacific Ave (we like food!) a few of our favorites are El Bacon - the best El Salvadorian on the Peninsula - and Axe and Arrow are spots we love to frequent.

mcgavin’s bakery

619 N Callow Ave, Bremerton

A Bremerton institution since 1942, McGavin's is known and loved across Kitsap. Their now-famous Pink Champagne cake, which also comes in a single-serving cupcake size, is heaven on a fork and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Boat shed restaurant

For over 40 years Boat Shed Restaurant has been welcoming patrons with fresh northwest seafood, sublime views of the water and the Manette Bridge, and beautiful outdoor dining. The staff is outstanding and dining on the dock is a warm-weather Kitsap Peninsula tradition. If you're on the water you can sail on in to their dock and walk right up to lunch, dinner, or happy hour!

MANETTE

Manette has the best little foodie scene on the Kitsap Peninsula. A small community in Bremerton with a BIG personality. Unique and quirky, it’s not like any other place in Kitsap. Amazing views of Port Orchard Bay and Port Washington Narrows flank you on all sides inside every business and on every street corner. If that wasn’t enough it gradually becomes more magical the steeper north you climb eventually laying way to an entire view of Bremerton and both the Manette and Warren Ave bridges.

callow ave

Callow Ave is a storied stretch of Bremerton long home to indie shops, restaurants, and a multitude of other businesses over its long history. Recently, Callow is having a renaissance and have recently been added to the First Friday Arts Walk itinerary. Businesses like Rimbert Illustration, Cafe Corvo, and Burrito Bar (4am burritos?!) have opened as staples like McGavin's Bakery, Discordia Games, La Poblanita Mexican Restaurant and The Charleston kept the torch burning for several decades.

USS turner joy

The USS Turner Joy is a historic Destroyer class warship originally commissioned in 1959 that now serves as a fascinating floating museum that welcomes visitors to explore our Bremerton navy heritage. Moored at the Bremerton Marina, the USS Turner Joy is the perfect attraction for visitors arriving via ferry and is particularly popular on warm sunny days.

evergreen park

1500 Park Ave, Bremerton

Evergreen is a park that has a little of everything and is truly a place where there is something for everyone. Wide expanses of grass to run, play catch, toss a frisbee, picnic or just relax. A boat launch and water access. Tall evergreen trees offer shade and beauty. A giant playground gives kids something to climb and scamper on, several covered picnic areas are available to reserve and are perfect for get-togethers. Evergreen is snuggled in a quiet neighborhood on the bands of the water making this sometimes bustling park always feel peaceful. If you get hungry, across the way Evergreen Pizza Co serves up crazy good pizza, grab some ‘zaw to go, and find your spot on the grass!

elandan gardens

3050 WA-16, Bremerton

Elandan Gardens is a world renown bonsai garden, museum, and garden hidden in plain sight on HWY 16 between Port Orchard and Bremerton. Elandan draws visitors from around the world and features bonsai trees that are hundreds of years old in a landscaped garden atmosphere, with sweeping views of Sinclair Inlet, transporting you to another place. Visitors pay $10 to tour the bonsai collection- a small fee to see one of the finest assortment of bonsai on the West Coast.
