“A toy store called Zainy Brainy when I was 16. I had the gift wrap station on lock. Ha!”
Where do you draw inspiration/creativity in your life?
“Usually my best ideas come during loooong road trips. I've been known to drive across the country on a whim.”

How did the idea of starting Brittany Kelley Photography begin?
“I’ve always had a camera in my hand since I was a kid. First a Polaroid, then a 35mm film camera in high school. When moving to the Seattle area in 2016 I had the option of getting back into financial services or becoming an entrepreneur. I'm so glad I made the choice I did!”

The Genesis
Tell us the story of how Brittany Kelley Photography came to fruition.
“It's important to me to use my talent for something that matters. Making an impact while earning a living is key. For the most part, I figure it out as I go but I stay true to myself. I began with portrait photography but followed my nose to the food industry. I also love helping small businesses create their brand. I travel nationwide and it's been the best thing ever.”
Tell us what/who drives you to keep working hard towards your goals.
“Taste testing all this great food! :) It blows my mind and puts a lump in my throat when I think of all the incredible people in my corner. Without my family, friends, mentors, and peers I wouldn't be where I am. They are what keeps me going. The chefs and entrepreneurs, their passion - so inspiring! Susan O’Meara, writer and food journalist, and I teamed up to create ‘The Lazy Susan’ because we just needed to tell their stories.”

Tell us your fave local drink spot - coffee, tea, wine, tequila, whatever!
“Coffee: Caffe Cocina - I shoot regularly for Caffe Cocina, part of that is sipping the specials we shoot and Eric Mahler makes a damn good latte.
Wine: either State 42 in Poulsbo or whatever Pino at Via Rosa 11 in Bainbridge Island recommends.
Cocktail: Hound + Bottle in Manette”
Tell us your fave local spot for a comfort meal - what do you always order?
“The Fried Chicken Sandwich at Butcher and Baker in Port Gamble, without question. Get it spicy!”

Out of town guests are coming for the weekend. What is the most important thing you share with them about Kitsap? Where do you absolutely have to take them?
“The must-stop spots are Port Gamble Trails, Butcher and Baker, Poulsbo Water Front, Mora for pistachio ice cream, Hound and Bottle, Via Rosa 11, hiking Guillemot Cove, the list could go on.”

Where are your favorite place(s) to get outside? What do you do when you go?
“Port Gamble Trails are beautiful and cover a ton of mileage if that’s your thing.
Point No Point to stroll the beach, play in the driftwood and take in the almost 360-degree mountain views. Pro tip: finish your trek with a pizza from Peninsula Pies or grab one on the way for the perfect picnic food. They’ve been voted Top 3 Pies in the County.
Guillemont Coves fall foliage is insane here and the stump house is always a huge hit. Also, Scenic Beach for epic views.”
